Are you interested to learn more about career opportunities within non – governmental and international organizations? Are you curious to understand what it means to work in a United Nations Agency or in an NGO, or to collaborate with NGOs and international organizations?

If so, you should join our upcoming Biotech Chat dedicated to “Careers in Non – Governmental and International Organizations” organized by the BioScience Network Lausanne (BSNL).

BSNL Biotech Chats are career and networking events where experts and peers can exchange their ideas and experiences in an informal setting.

During this Biotech Chat, you will have the opportunity to listen to the talks and network with three outstanding speakers:

  • Vishali Jeyaseelan, PhD, Technical Officer Polio Research at World Health Organization – WHO (Geneva)

Vishali Jeyaseelan obtained her PhD in 2012 MGR Medical University, in India with a joint collaboration with University of North Carolina (UNC), Chapel Hill, USA in the field of Biostatistics. She worked as a researcher and teacher of biostatistics and epidemiology at Christian Medical College, in India and is a member of the Institutional Review Board. Vishali joined WHO in 2018.

  • Gabriela Montorzi, PhD, Managing Director at Scientific Infographic (Geneva)

Gabriela Montorzi obtained her PhD in Life Sciences at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (EPFL). She started her career as a cardiovascular research scientist at EPFL. She then dedicated several years to international development, working for the Council on Health Research for Development (COHRED), and the WHO Ethics and Health Department and Research Ethics Review Committee. Gabriela is a Founder and Managing Director of  Scientific Infographics, a company dedicated to enabling effective communication of complex issues through high-quality visual representations.

  • David Azoulay, Managing Attorney and Director of Environmental Health Program at Center for International Environmental Law – CIEL (Geneva)

David Azoulay is a French attorney who studied public international law in France and Spain before specializing in environmental law. He comes to CIEL from Friends of the Earth Europe in Brussels, where he coordinated their chemical and nanotechnologies campaign. Before that, he worked as an associate in environmental law in the Paris office of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.

The event will take place on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 from 18:00 to 20:00 in auditorium SV 1717 at EPFL.

Each Biotech Chat is followed by an apéro to give you a chance to discuss and network with the speakers and the participants.
