SICHH was jointly launched in 2012 by Fribourg University (UNIFR) and the Fribourg Hospital (HFR). The proposed public-private partnership aims to provide companies, scientists and clinicians with advanced equipment and highly specialized skills in the areas of medical technology (MedTech), biotechnology (BioTech), food technology (FoodTech), pharmaceuticals and all areas related to human health.
